Jeremy Viner
Founder of Viner Advisory Ltd, the company that develops and owns DecisionGrade™.

A long time on a narrow problem
Jeremy has spent more than 20 years in technology strategy and enterprise architecture across financial services, government services, retail, telecoms, energy, postal services and consumer goods, including over a decade in major financial institutions building and leading an enterprise decision-enablement capability.
The pattern was the same in every sector. The decisions that hurt were rarely the risks that had been assessed and accepted. They were the dependencies nobody wrote down, known to a handful of experts and found only after something broke. And when a senior person asked a reasonable question, such as what would happen if a programme were paused, the act of answering it pulled people off delivery for weeks.
He holds a First Class MEng and Executive MBA, and completed INSEAD's Transforming Your Business with AI programme.
Judgement captured, not replaced
A decision is defensible when someone who was not in the room can see how it was reached, who checked it and why it holds. Most decisions in large estates are not, and the reason is seldom a shortage of data. It is that nobody can show who stood behind the answer.
The aim was never to take the expert out of the decision. It is to make sure the expert's judgement is recorded, attributed and there to be relied on when the decision is questioned.
The company behind DecisionGrade
DecisionGrade is developed and owned by Viner Advisory Ltd, an independent advisory practice based in Edinburgh. The practice offers the DecisionGrade platform together with the engagement method and advisory services around it, to regulated enterprises in financial services and beyond.
Engagements are led by Jeremy personally.
